Using Explain Everything to support classroom teachers
Limited Capacity filling up

Ever have a student who missed a lesson?  Or one that just needs some extra time to think and have the lesson repeated?
How about a parent who really doesn't understand that "new" math and cannot help their child at home?
We might have the answer to that as we have discovered the benefit of having a video library of quick, targeted mini-lessons.

The purpose of this workshop is show teachers how to create instructional videos using Explain Everything and iMovie.
You'll walk away with a least one mini-lesson (we hope more) that you can store in your own teaching library (a folder in Google)!

Cruising into Coding with Pro-Bots

Thanks to a grant from the MCPE Dale Street School has been running a pilot program integrating 50 Pro-Bots into fourth and fifth grade classrooms. Are you looking for a robotic to use in your classroom that doesn't require an app or device to run it? Pro-bots are the answer for you! Pro-Bot is a turtle robot, cleverly disguised as a race car. This device offers students an enticing, engaging, and hands-on experience with programming and geometric concepts. Pro-Bot commands are entered via a set of arrow and number keys mounted on the back of the device. Plan a route for Pro-Bot using distance and degree measures on the keypad controls. Come to my session to learn about these robots, their basic functions, how to program them, and PLAY!

Together, we will explore the possibilities available with Bookshare, which is an online library of accessible educational media for readers of all ages with print disabilities. I will share how you can get started with using Bookshare with eligible students.

How do you start?
What's the best device to use?
How do students use it at home?

We can also take a look at how you can move to the next level in your use of Bookshare. I'll definitely be sharing how I "tricked" one of our most reluctant readers into using Bookshare on an iPad.
